Fried cheese curds. Excellent.

  • Food: While enjoying your yearly cream puff (or two) and order of deep fried cheese curds, you may want to expand your stomach for all of the new foods offered this year at the fair as well! A few must try new foods include the Bacon Bottom Porker Pizza (three words: bacon woven crust), the Churro Sundae offered at the Mexican Grill and Water Street Brewery’s Wis-Cone-Sin!
  • Entertainment: In case you missed out on a few big name acts at the fair such as Boston or Lee Brice, don’t fret; there are still plenty of acts happening all week to keep you satisfied until next year’s fair! If you’re a thrill seeker, you won’t want to miss Nik Wallenda “King of the High Wire” attempt his longest walk yet on Tuesday, August 11th! For country lovers, Justin Moore will perform this week along with Kenny Rogers closing out the fair on Sunday, August 16th. Don’t forget about the endless amount of free music and entertainment occurring at stages throughout the fairgrounds too!
  • Animals: It wouldn’t be the fair without the animals! While you can’t miss taking a stroll through the barns to see the horses, cows, sheep, and rabbits, there are two must see animal acts this year. If you’re heading to the fair, be sure to catch the famous racing pigs at the racing animals arena and don’t miss the sea lions at the Sea Lion Splash exhibit where you can learn more about the comedic nature of these amazing animals!
  • Rides: Last but not least, one attraction a fairgoer cannot miss out on is the SpinCity Amusement Ride and Game Area! Here you can enjoy the ecstasy of the new thrill ride Equinox, take a stroll through various fun houses and play loads of carnival games for prizes!
